Wendy L. Morrison

Coming from a highly entrepreneurial family, Wendy developed a passion for business when she was a youth growing up in Calgary, Alberta. She completed Business Administration at Calgary’s Mount Royal University and then decided to travel.

After traveling solo through 27 countries, she settled down in her early 20s to operate her own national marketing agency, which she successfully exited after 30 years.

Over the years, Wendy has provided advertising and design services as well as event management, publishing and business development council for a broad range of businesses. She has also worked as a business consultant for the Alberta Government.

An avid volunteer, Wendy has managed the marketing and promotions for several events and festivals, including the 60th Anniversary of Alpine Canada’s World Cup Downhills.

Wendy has obtained formal education in art, design, photography and writing. She enjoys creating art in her leisure time, along with metalsmithing and sculpturing. She also loves training and riding horses. Currently, Wendy is the first woman president of the West Kootenay chapter of Back Country Horseman of B.C.

Prior to her joining the BBA in 2013, Wendy and her partner operated an organic farm and tourist retreat in Central Alberta for 13 years. Since moving to B.C., which was a lifelong dream, Wendy has come to love the Columbia Basin for its Kootenay Kindness and she truly values the efforts and dreams of dedicated business owners in the Basin.

A researcher by nature, Wendy enjoys working with her clients to obtain data through market analysis to better assist them in strengthening their businesses by understanding their target markets and how to effectively reach them.

Wendy is based out of Community Futures of Greater Trail.
