This online workshop calendar is your one stop shop for workshops in the Kootenays.

Presented by: Basin Business Advisor Program (BBA), KAST (Kootenay Association of Science and Technology), Community Futures, Small Business B.C, Women’s Enterprise, Columbia Basin Alliance for Literacy (CBAL), Simon Fraser University and independent contractors.

Kootenay Association for Science and Technology (KAST) DER3 Program:

In response to the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic comes the new Digital Economy: Rapid Response + Resiliency (DER3) program, developed by Innovate BC. Apply for technology adoption assessment and solutions. BBA collaborates with KAST to support businesses with tech adoption… ask your BBA Advisor about this program.

Innovate BC Wage Subsidy – Digital Skills for Youth –

The program will:  

  • Match underemployed youth with SMBs and not-for-profits in digital related roles,  
  • Provide digital skills training so youth can successfully transition to the workforce,  
  • Increase employability and marketability of youth.  

The Digital Skills for Youth (DS4Y) program, funded by the Government of Canada, and delivered by Innovate BC, provides up to $26,000 for digital skills training so youth (aged 15-30) can successfully transition to the workforce.

Columbia Basin Trust (CBT) Small Working Capital Loan Fund

The Small Business Working Capital Loans provide working capital and operating funds for Basin-based small businesses and social enterprises to assist with the challenges of COVID-19. Funds can be used for expenses such as rent, wages, inventory, renovations, equipment purchase, personal protective equipment and capital expenses necessary for business re-opening or modifications.

Loan funds may also be used for costs associated with technology adoption. Technology adoption may include, but is not limited to, front and back end office systems, e-commerce and digital transformation of business and/or manufacturing processes.
