Preparing for the Basin Food Expo and Beyond:
There is more to taking orders from retailers, grocers, wholesalers and restaurants than having a product made. Whether you are growing from the Farmer’s Market into small retailers or already supplying grocers and looking for wider distribution there will valuable information shared and connections made.
Topics of discussion include:
Understanding the market, price structure and food industry margins, creating a sell sheet, selling direct to retail, selling through a broker, exhibiting your products and scaling for large orders.
Photography for Business:
This workshop focuses on how to use your phone’s camera to showcase your products online on Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, your website or virtual events such as the Basin Food Expo. Learn basic photography techniques, such as lighting, use of space, angles, and props that will make your product shine. Once you have the photos, then learn how to edit them quickly and efficiently with some great, easy-to-use apps and presets… while staying within your budget.
Instagram – Amp up your business game:
For those who are already familiar with Instagram and would like to know more about proper hashtags, planning posts and composing better pictures. In preparation for the Basin Food Expo (and beyond) we’ll discuss what buyers look for in a strong online presence and why it matters to them. Be ready to write those orders up and have your marketing support your efforts. The goal is to improve your workflow, engage with and attract more followers, and help build a profile to represent your business and brand. Using Instagram insights or analytics to understand who is your audience and present/ future customers.
We will be using your existing pictures and some Instagram available apps too.
