The Team

Barb Williams, Advisor, Nelson and area (based out of Community Futures Central Kootenay in Nelson)

Barb has been with Community Futures Central Kootenay for 23 years, including 18 years with the Self-employment Program and 11 years spent as a Self-employment Program Manager. Barb has developed a wealth of entrepreneurial experience from working with her own businesses and thousands of Central Kootenay businesses through the years. She has a proven record of coaching, mentoring and training businesses, as well as developing and delivering workshops on a variety of business topics. Barb loves crunching numbers, is an Excel and bookkeeping expert and continues to manage her own retail business (10 years & counting).

 Wendy Morrison, Advisor, Trail and area (based out of Community Futures Greater Trail)

Wendy has operated her own marketing agency, offering advertising and design services, event management, publishing and business development council for a broad range of businesses. For several years she was a business consultant for Employment and Immigration in Alberta. Most recently she set up and operated her own organic farm and tourist retreat in central Alberta.

Roberta Ciolli, Advisor, Revelstoke and area (based out of Community Futures Revelstoke)

Roberta has been with Community Futures Revelstoke since 2007 as a Self-employment Program Coordinator. In this role, she has delivered business counselling and advisory services to a variety of small businesses, developed and implemented workshop curriculum and coordinated a local Enterprising Non-Profits project. Roberta has been actively involved as a representative of Revelstoke in the Invest Kootenay partnership, and loves working with small businesses.

BobBob Bougie, Advisor, Cranbrook and area (based out of Community Futures East Kootenay in Cranbrook)

Bob has a varied career as an independent business consultant working in organizational effectiveness and business analysis. Helping companies and owners identify what is important to them and the key elements for each to measure as they continually improve business is what Bob does. Working in Europe, the US and Canada has shown Bob the need to be flexible to different cultural and business requirements. Living in Fernie, Bob is active in the local artistic community.

WillWill Nixon, Program Manager / Advisor (based out of Community Futures East Kootenay in Cranbrook)

Will has been working with the BBA program since 2007, serving the East Kootenay. In this time, he has proven his ability to efficiently identify problem areas and opportunities for a wide variety of businesses. Will has a commerce degree from the University of Guelph and has taken subsequent business, entrepreneurial and management courses over the years. In addition to previous experience in consulting and operating small businesses, he has worked extensively in food service and national retail management.
